simulation platform in its work on the ‘phygital’ world, blending
physics and digital technology in engineering and design. HPC and
digital twins accelerate innovation and improve customer experiences
while cloud computing is ‘transforming the capabilities of data-driven
systems’. Listen in to LTTS CTO Ashish Khushu’s talk at the Altair 2023 Future Industry conference and visit LTTS’ oil country landing page.
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has contributed its library of oil and gas reports to underpin an AI demonstrator developed by FabriqAI and Kadme. Users can ask questions about production licenses, areas, prospects, wells and discoveries from some 600 reports documenting work performed by companies on the NCS. More from NPD.
UK-based 3D technology specialist, Eserv, is to digitize the Neptune-operated D15-A and K12-C offshore platforms, ‘boosting’ Neptune’s global portfolio of digital twins. Neptune’s 14 digital twins are claimed to ‘enable engineers to carry out traditional offshore work from an onshore location, accelerating work schedules and reducing costs’. Watch the video here. Stop-press: Neptune Energy has just been acquired by ENI in a $3.9 deal.
Aker BP has deployed Ivalua’s source-to-contract and supplier management toolset. KPMG caried out the systems integration.
Alteryx has achieved ‘cloud-ready’ status for its integration with Google’s AlloyDB, a managed PostgreSQL-compatible database. More from Alteryx.
Bently Nevada has teamed with Augury on a machine health as a service offering. The solution covers alarm maintenance and optimization along with alarm response and root cause determination. Augury’s AI ‘detects 95% of anomalies, correctly diagnoses 99% of malfunctions and offers an ROI of 3X-10X within months.’ More from Baker Hughes.
Phillips 66 has contracted with Bridger Photonics to deploy its laser-based methane detection technology across Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas.
OMV has renewed its multi-year contract with CGG for the operation of a dedicated processing center at its head office in Vienna for an extra three-years.
DNV has awarded metal 3D printer manufacturer Aidro an ‘industry-first’ certification for its additive manufacturing technique. Aidro’s Desktop Metal Shop System achieved the highest level of DNV’s AM manufacturer certification for laser powder bed fusion, which included ‘part qualification for critical level AMC 3’ of a 316L valve body. The solution targets additive manufacturing ‘2.0’ applications in energy, oil & gas, maritime, and other industries.
Eliis and the BRGM, the French geological survey, are working on a 111 km2 3D onshore seismic data set acquired in spring 2022, located 60 km SE of Paris. The study is to investigate CO2 storage sites under the EU Horizon PilotStrategy project. More from BRGM.
In a separate announcement Eliis revealed that Bluware’s VDS data format and FAST data streaming technology are now embedded into PaleoScan and, moreover, ‘integrated with the OSDU Data Platform running on AWS’.
Equinor’s One Subsurface community (that resulted from the 2022 merger of the exploration and petech organizations) has selected Halliburton Landmark DecisionSpace as its standard subsurface data interpretation toolbox and ‘OpenWorks with OSDU’ as its corporate database for interpretations.
Repsol has implemented the Halliburton Landmark DecisionSpace 365 Well Construction Suite as its preferred digital solution to automate and streamline the well design process. The deployment leverages Landmark’s ‘SmartDigital’ co-innovation service to deliver tailored workflows and software components for well workflows.
One Stop Systems has received certification from Nvidia for its OSS Rigel Edge Supercomputer. The Rigel houses four Nvidia boards from the HGX A100 platform.
Velo3D has teamed with UK-based PhysicsX, adding ‘AI-enhanced’ simulation to its 3D printing offering. PhysicsX’ simulation for additive manufacturing workflows are said to accelerate simulation loops, improve fidelity and ‘algorithmically explore’ complex design spaces.
SAP is migrating part of its internal IT landscape and the SAP Enterprise Cloud Services portfolio onto Red Hat Enterprise Linux. SAP is also is ‘boosting support’ for RISE with SAP for which RHEL is now ‘the preferred operating system’.
IBM’s Watson technology is to be embedded into SAP solutions to provide ‘new AI-driven insights and automation’. The Watson capabilities will power a digital assistant in SAP Start, a unified entry point for cloud solutions from SAP.
Petrobras has awarded SLB a contract to develop and implement a control system and dynamic process simulation. The solution is being developed in a partnership between Inprocess Technology and SLB’s Sensia unit.
