A new standard, ISO/IEC 38507:2022 covers the governance implications of the use of artificial intelligence by organizations. The document provides guidance on the governance and use of AI to ensure its ‘effective, efficient and acceptable use within the organization’.

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) has published the outcomes of Testbed-17. TB17 research covers model-driven standards, geo data cubes, sensor integration and more.

The OGC is also seeking sponsors for a pilot to improve disaster management and response. The OGC Disaster Pilot 2022 will use spatial data standards with web and cloud technologies so that stakeholders can collaborate across any distance, using disparate data, to manage every phase and scale of disasters. The 2021 edition of the DP was backed by NASA, USGS and Natural Resources Canada with support from AWS.

PIDX International has released a set of units of measure (UOM) scheme guidelines to allow trading partners to share the units of measure used in price sheets, invoices, and transaction documents. The UOM scheme is backward compatible with PIDX price sheets. The UOMs fit into the price sheet header, and support ‘ANSI, ISO, or UNECE validation’. More from the PIDX 1.62 schema bundle.

The UK Treasury has announced a Transition Plan Taskforce to support the move to a low-carbon economy. The TPT is to make recommendations for a disclosure framework that enables ‘science-based, standardized and meaningful transition plans’ including disclosure guidance, templates and metrics. Beyond its UK regulatory mandate, the TPT hopes to be ‘an example for the development of other national and international standards and norms’.
