CoreLogic has announced a lightning risk map for the oil and gas industry. The LRM uses lightning data from Vaisala to visualize geospatial trends in lightning strikes and help reduce downtime and expense from strikes More from CoreLogic.

Petex, which acquired Midland Valley Exploration in 2017, has released MOVE 2019.1 with new model building and display functionality. A new API enables communication with other Petex and 3rd party applications via Resolve or the Petex OpenServer. Read the release notes here.

V 6.6 of Actenum DSO for upstream, an ‘AI-driven’ scheduling platform for, inter alia, drilling, completions and workovers provides enhanced collaboration and a streamlined scheduler’s workflow. Agilent’s 990 Micro GC portable gas chromatograph monitors calorific valuation and odorant level in natural gas. The ‘smart-connected’ digital unit delivers laboratory-quality data for natural gas distribution networks.

Spectris unit Brüel & Kjær Vibro has announced the DT-12x series of loop-powered displacement transmitters. The units are an easy to deploy solution for shaft displacement and vibration monitoring capability for a wide range of industrial machines. Barco has announced Canvas, a virtual reality visualization platform for construction planning meeting rooms. Canvas provides 3D images coupled to business objectives to decision-makers and experts across architecture, engineering and construction.

The 2019.4 release of Petrosys’ dbMap/Web adds new risk model guidance, a series of configurable questions that lead to risk ‘sub-factors’, that can be combined to a final risk value. Elysium is to embed QIF, the quality information framework, in its flagship Asfalis platform. QIF is an XML architecture that manages quality information across in manufacturing systems. QIF was created by the Digital metrology standards consortium and has been accredited by the US ANSI standards organization. Endress+Hauser’s new ATEX-rated iTEMP TMT71/72 Bluetooth wireless transmitters can be accessed from E+H’s SmartBlue app. The transmitters are compatible with signals from resistance or voltage sensors and thermocouples and offer monitoring functions, device troubleshooting and diagnostics in accordance with the NAMUR NE 107 recommendations for self-monitoring devices.

Integrated InformaticsMarco Commander for ESRI ArcGIS Pro V6.0 brings high performance and parallel processing to geospatial data inventorying, identification and management. The Commander is a component of the Marco Studio suite that features spatial data discovery, file modification and a repoint/repath capability. Commander crawls enterprise GIS assets and captures key GIS metadata to the Marco Database, a collection of some 30 tables deployable in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle or SQLite. Integrated Informatics has also announced Geodetics Toolkit for Pro for oil and gas and natural resources GIS professionals. OspreyData has released ‘Unified Monitor’, a component of its production optimization platform, as a stand-alone offering to enable consolidated views of scada and artificial lift feeds from producing oil and gas wells. The UM accelerates time to deployment of a digital oilfield with centralized visualization of a production, regardless of scada source, lift type or pump manufacturer. The 2019.3 release of PerGeos, Thermo Scientific’s digital rock analysis software includes new artificial intelligence-based processing tools. A new deep learning environment supports the combined use of AI with traditional algorithms. Quorum Software has announced myQuorum DynamicDocs, a cloud-based document management system for oil and gas. DynamicDocs supports search for land, accounting and well files using flexible parameters based on document attributes, tags and phrases. Quorum also recently released OGsys On Demand, a cloud-based edition of its oil and gas accounting software targeting small to medium-sized businesses.

Ryder Scott has posted new freeware Excel add-ins to its Reservoir Solutions software portal. The Lognormal Probability Tool performs a ‘probit plot’ of the potential of resource plays using the methodology outlined in SPEE Monograph 3, ‘Guidelines for the Practical Evaluation of Undeveloped Reserves in Resource Plays (2010)’. The Exponential Calculator helps compute parameters used in exponential decline production forecasting. Another new freeware tool from Ryder Scott is the Well Collator, a web-based application builds a pad-branch-stem hierarchy for a well cluster from a file of surface and bottom-hole coordinates. Wood Mackenzie’s new Lens is a global upstream property valuation solution that embeds Woodmac’s global data sets and models in a cloud-based solution for opportunity screening, valuation and visualization. Watch the video here.

Yokogawa has released the Dynamic real time optimizer, a solution in the OpreX asset operations and optimization family. The DRTO uses a combination of first principles simulation and multivariable predictive control technology to optimize plant operations. Under the optimizer hood is technology from Yokogawa’s KBC Advanced Technologies unit.

Siemens Digital Industries Software is expanding its cloud hosted portfolio to include Simcenter Amesim (simulation software for modeling and analysis of multidomain systems) and Simcenter 3D (environment for 3D Computer aided Engineering, CAE). A monthly subscription offers small and medium-sized enterprises a modular function library and a pay-per-use computer infrastructure.
