ECCMA has announced a shared materials master data (eSMD) registry tied in to the Authoritative Legal Entity registry of trading partners. ECCMA has also announced eMDV, a web-based cataloging tool to manage material, service and product master data to ISO 8000 and ISO 22745 standards.

The US Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) and the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) are to map between their systems to improve transparency by linking the issuer and issuance of securities. ISINs are issued in more than 200 jurisdictions while LEI has issued over a million records. The linkage is said to help with ‘know your customer’, (KYC) due diligence processes.

Energistics has announced the 2019 Executive teams for its upstream standards portfolio.

Norwegian EPIM standards organization has announced that its SAM-X web map service for seismic survey planners and other stakeholders is now live. Sign-on has been upgraded to EPIM-ID, a common authentication method across all EPIM services.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) has announced a ’standards milestone’ in its push for simpler, stronger authentication on the web. W3C and the FIDO Alliance have advanced the Web Authentication (WebAuthn) standard to ‘candidate recommendation’. WebAuthn is a ‘phishing-resistant’ web API for secure authentication across sites and devices.

The IFRS has released its 2018 Taxonomy Business Rules for use with software tools supporting XBRL Formula. The business rules are used to validate IFRS reports.

The XBRL financial reporting standards organization has released ‘XF’, the XBRL Formula specifications. XF is an XLink-based general purpose rules language for XBRL. An XF tutorial is also available.

The EU has launched a new INSPIRE Geoportal for discovery and use of EU environmental geospatial data sets. Inspire data covers ground water, transport networks, population, land use and air temperature. The Geoportal ingests metadata from the (currently 36) officially registered national data catalogues of EU Member States and EFTA countries.

The Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) are to align their non-financial reporting standards with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures. The latter is a disclosure framework that provides financial market participants with information as to how climate-change issues may affect investment. More from GreenBiz.

A recent meeting of the IFLEXX (International File Exchange XML) petroleum standards body discussed the alignment of the IFLEXX standard, mainly used in German-speaking countries, with international PIDX standard. IFLEXX is an open source format for data exchange between oil and gas companies.

SAP Ariba has joined the Petroleum Industry Data Exchange standards body, PIDX.
