Nubeva gets Chevron Tech Ventures cash

StratusEdge’s ‘cloud service chaining’ technology secures oil and gas cloud migrations.

Chevron Technology Ventures is backing San Jose, California-based Nubeva whose StratusEdge software has been developed to support oil and gas cloud migrations. StratusEdge extends a company’s data center security controls into the cloud, preserving investments in security capability, policy and personnel. StratEdge’s ‘cloud service chaining’ technology plugs gaps in current networking and control functionality in cloud platforms.

StratusEdge monitors packet traffic between virtual machines, networks and platform services such as .NET/PaaS. Security teams can deploy the same ‘next-generation’ firewalls or complete security technology stacks inside their Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS clouds, as they do in their private data centers.

Nubeva CEO, Randy Chou said, ‘A migration to the cloud does not necessarily mean replacing and re-architecting everything. We help companies extend existing security and visibility investments into the cloud and to hybrid datacenters.’ The CTV Catalyst program supports early-stage companies working on technologies that can directly benefit the oil and gas industry.
