Upstream crowdsourcing innovators

Crudefunders, Draupner Energy solicit investment, ideas.

If you fancy a punt on oil and gas, you have two new options. In the US, Crudefunders has launched its equity crowdfunding project, claimed to be the first portal offering direct investment in oil well drilling projects to both non-accredited and accredited investors. Crowdfunding oil and gas has been made possible following the passing of Reg CF under the US Jobs Act. US citizens can invest from $1,000 up.

On the other side of the pond, Stockholm headquartered Draupner Energy proposes a different take on oil and gas crowdsourcing. Draupner doesn’t want your money, just your ideas. ‘Creative and curious industry professionals, academics and passionate amateurs’ are invited to join the community and get access to Draupner’s systems and data. If the lucky geoscientists’ ideas are accepted, they receive ‘cash prizes and bonuses.’
