Core Lab has acquired Viarmes, France-based Sanchez Technologies, manufacturer of cutting edge reservoir conditions pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) equipment and instrumentation. Sanchez is a leader in automated high-pressure, high-temperature mercury-free PVT instrumentation.

Mass spectrometry specialist 908 Devices has closed $11.6 million in series C funding to expand into the oil and gas market. Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures led the round. The monies will be used to expand commercial channels and develop additional high-pressure mass spectrometry products. 908 is also working with Schlumberger on a portable mass spectrometer.

Emerson has acquired Norwegian flow assurance and production optimization software boutique Yggdrasil. Emerson will incorporate Yggdrasil’s METTE production optimization solution into its Roxar reservoir management software portfolio, providing operators with an integrated workflow from seismic interpretation and reservoir modeling to reservoir simulation and production optimization.

After 14 years of association with Geo2X, Switzerland-based W-GeoSoft has regained its independence.

Willbros has finalized the sale of its downstream engineering organization to a group led by Bernhard Capital Partners. The unit now operates as Wink Engineering.

IFS is to acquire VisionWaves B.V., a provider of operational intelligence software, in an all cash deal.

Following last year’s merger, Blueback Reservoir is to rebrand as ‘Cegal.’
