Tibco Software, Jaspersoft, Aker Solutions, Akastor, Atos, Bull, National Oilwell Varco, NOW.

Tibco Software has acquired San Francisco headquartered business intelligence specialist Jaspersoft Corp. The Jaspersoft name will be retained and the unit will operate as a product group within Tibco.

Aker Solutions is to split in two with one new company handling subsea, engineering and maintenance, operating under the Aker Solutions name. The other, named ‘Akastor’ includes drilling technologies, oilfield services and process systems. Both will be listed on the Oslo stock exchange.

Atos is to acquire French high performance computing specialist Bull for €620 million, a 30% premium on the average share price over the last three months.

National Oilwell Varco is to spin-off its distribution business into a new company, NOW Inc., headquartered in Houston. Now, NOW will be an independent, publicly traded company, and NOV will retain no ownership interest in NOW. NOW expects to receive approval soon for the listing of its common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol DNOW.
