Pat Mullen has been named executive VP and operating group president of CB&I. Jim Sabin is now executive VP global systems.

The UK’s Common data access (CDA) oil and gas information portal has launched UKOilandGasData, a gateway to information previously in the Digital energy atlas and library (Deal) and CDA’s own well and seismic data stores.

ConocoPhillips CTO Ram Shenoy has been appointed to the US (SEAB). ConocoPhillips ranked N° 2 in the 2013 500 list of top users of information technology.

Curtiss-Wright flow control has named Mark Rowitz aftermarket manager of its Farris Engineering business.

The US Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement is soliciting proposals for oil spill response research projects and will spend ‘up to’ $7 million on such projects in 2014.

Encap Flatrock Midstream has promoted Morriss Hurt and Karl Pfluger to MD.

Geotrace has promoted Jaime Stein to chief geoscience officer and Greg McCracken to CFO.

Michael Bittar heads-up Halliburton’s new unconventional and reservoir productivity technology center at King Fahd university of petroleum and minerals located in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

Amanda Turner is VP global multi-client solutions with Ikon Science. She hails from Esri and BP.

Paul Downe is now CTO of ISN. He hails from Dell services & solutions.

Speaking at a Cowen & Co. event last month Schlumberger ’s Pat Schorn revealed that the company has a total of 27 petaflops of compute capacity, the ‘4th largest private installed base in the world.’

Deaths

Merlin Energy Resources founder and MD Chris Pritchard died this month following a short illness.
