P2 Energy Solutions (formerly Petroleum Place) has acquired production management and hydrocarbon accounting software boutique Merrick Systems. HitecVision (for Merrick) and Advent International (for P2) backed the deal whose financial terms were not disclosed.

IHS has acquired PacWest Consulting Partners, a provider of market intelligence to the unconventional oil and gas industry, bringing PacWest’s ‘IQ’ products (PumpingIQ, WellIQ, and ProppantIQ) into the IHS fold.

GSE Systems has acquired staffing boutique Hyperspring along with a 50% interest in IntelliQlik, developer of an online learning and learning management system for the energy market. The deal involves an initial $3 million payment with up to $8.4 million more if certain earnings targets are met.

Intervale Capital is selling Proserv Group to Riverstone Holdings, a private equity group with over $27 billion of committed capital. Riverstone and Proserv management are acquiring the company from Intervale, Weatherford and minority shareholders.

Emerson Process Management has acquired Management Resources Group, a management consulting specialized in manufacturing reliability.

CGG has turned down Technip’s unsolicited bid, rejecting the financial terms and the ‘industrial logic’ of integrating CGG’s activities within Technip.

FTI has acquired Platt Sparks & Assoc. consulting petroleum engineers.
