CGG’s Jason reservoir characterization software and services unit has announced a new 3D interpretation function to its EPlus package, the analytical component of the Jason suite (previously the Geophysical Workbench). The Jason suite is CGG’s ‘seismic-to-simulation’ software offering.
The new 3D interpretation module lets users build, refine and complete structural, stratigraphic and rock property models without leaving the Jason suite. The tool offers visualization of wells, horizons, faults, seismic and rock property volumes and is integrated with Jason’s deterministic and geostatistical tools for quantitative interpretation.
Sophie Zurquiyah, CGG executive VP geology, geophysics and reservoir, said, ‘The new tool adds volume visualization and interpretation capabilities to Jason’s inversion technology. This launch underlines CGG’s strategy to expand its offering in the interpretation market.’ CGG acquired Jason with Fugro’s geoscience division last year. More from Jason.
