Global reporting initiative, Oasis, Open geospatial consortium, PODS, Companies house.

The Global Reporting Initiative has launched the GRI Taxonomy 2013, updated for use with G4, the latest version of GRI’s sustainability reporting guidelines. The standard was developed with help from Deloitte and is available free. The 2014 taxonomy enables organizations to produce digital sustainability reports leveraging the GRI Guidelines.

The Oasis Emergency Management Technical Committee has approved the Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) Distribution Element Version 2.0. The new spec describes a standard message distribution format for data sharing among emergency information systems. The DE uses a profile of the Geographic Markup Language (GML) and follows best practices for naming conventions.

The Open Geospatial Consortium and the PODS Association have signed a liaison agreement to agreed to work together to identify enhancement opportunities between the PODS data model and the OGC’s geospatial interoperability concepts.

The UK Companies House has launched its ‘Free accounts’ data product giving the public access to statutory accounts in the both iXBRL and XBRL formats. The initiative is part of the UK government’s open data agenda.
