New social network by RigZone founder to ‘bridge the boomer to gen Y gap.’

David Kent, creator of has launched, a ‘professionally-driven’ social network for the oil and gas industry. Oilpro offers engineers, project managers and executives ‘a dedicated place for knowledge sharing and professional networking.’ Kent said, ‘Oilpro was created as a free and open exchange to facilitate the sharing of oilfield knowledge. An analysis by Schlumberger showed that the oil and gas industry skipped generation X and we now have the challenge of bridging the knowledge gap between boomers and gen Y.
