Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures is a new 100% Aramco unit targeting ‘sustainable domestic energy and water consumption.’

Argus Media has acquired DeWitt & Company, a provider of market assessments and business intelligence to the petrochemical industries.

GE, NRG Energy and ConocoPhillips joint venture Energy Technology Ventures has invested in On-Ramp Wireless.

Dassault Systèmes has completed the acquisition of Vancouver-based geological modeling and simulation company Gemcom Software International for approximately $360 million cash.

IHS has acquired ‘semantic search’ specialist Invention Machine for $40 million. IHS also bought engineering information specialist GlobalSpec from Warburg Pincus for $135 million. And IHS has acquired Citation Technologies’ CyberRegs unit for $11 million. CyberRegs provides EHS regulatory and compliance information for the US, Canada and Mexico.

KBC has purchased Infochem Computer Services for £9.5m as a ‘first step’ in its expansion into the upstream oil and gas software and services market.

Knight Oil Tools has acquired Tri-State Tools & Inspection.

Object Reservoir has been acquired by Halliburton.

AGR has acquired Ocean Riser Systems which will integrate AGR’s Enhanced Drilling Solutions unit.

Riviera Energy and the transaction advisory group of Ensley Properties have merged. Pritchard Capital Partners has a share in the new venture.

SherWare and Learn Tax have combined to form an accounting and tax resource center for small independent oil and gas producers.

Schlumberger has taken a 20% stake in Chinese oilfield services provider Antonoil.
