Energistics, NDR11, Fiatech, Open Geospatial Consortium, OSGeo, PIDX, PPDM, W3C, USGIN.

Energistics is planning the national data repositories event, NDR 11, to take place in Kuala Lumpur in October. The agenda will cover recruitment, benchmarking, reporting standards, tendering, promotional activities, data quality and more.

The Fitaech iRING project is to publish an eNewsletter, ‘iRINGToday’ and is seeking ‘thought leading content’ to share with ISO 15926 practitioners.

The Open Geospatial Consortium is seeking comments on an OGC candidate standard, the network common data form (NetCDF). NetCDF was developed at the Unidata program center of the university corporation for atmospheric research (UCAR).

OSGeo has announced the release of GeoMoose 2.6, an open source web application framework for displaying geographic data.

PIDX International and Energistics have signed a memorandum of understanding that will allow them to collaborate on industry events and to assist each other with joint standards adoption.

The PPDM 3.9 change management process is underway including an organic geochemistry analysis subject area. Members are invited to request modifications to the data model and vote on such.

The RDF web applications working group of the W3C has published several RDF related recommendations along with the RDFa 1.1 Primer as a working note. The documents outline the vision for RDFa in a variety of XML and HTML-based Web markup languages.

The USGIN metadata wizard is a format agnostic metadata creation web-tool that exports a generic metadata model into various standards such FGDC XML, and ISO 19139 XML files. The tool aims to ‘make metadata creation as simple as possible while still supporting several metadata standards.’
