Loisville, KY headquartered energy supply monitoring specialist Genscape has launched a real time ‘fundamentals’ oil flow data service targeting the UK Forties benchmark supply. Genscape uses infrared camera systems, EM monitors and high resolution aerial photography to track oil inventories and flow rates. The acquired data is processed by Genscape’s meteorologists, economists and analysts using mathematical models and presented as maps and graphs of delivery and price information. Cargo delays and production declines at the Forties complex (actually a network of 70 fields and 169 kilometers of pipeline) have accentuated the need for greater transparency of oil fundamentals.
Subscribers get half-hourly updates on flows in the Forties pipeline and the system tracks oceangoing tankers loaded at Hound Point. It also measures oil storage at Dalmeny daily and yields a complete and accurate picture of oil available for export. The system tracks operations of the fractionators at Kinneil and the Ineos Grangemouth refinery. More from Genscape.
