Schlumberger has acquired multiphase flow modeling boutique SPT Group from the Altor Fund II. Reports in the Norwegian press put the price at 2,5 billion NOK ($440 million).
Acorn Energy is to purchase OmniMetrix for $8.5 million. OmniMetrix develops remote monitoring equipment and systems for emergency power generators and pipelines. Pritchard Capital Partners served as an advisor to Acorn in the deal.
IHS has acquired the Computer Assisted Product Selection (CAPS) electronic components database and tools business, from PartMiner and the digital oil and gas pipeline and infrastructure information business from Hild Technology Services.
Lufkin Industries has acquired Zenith Oilfield Technology for £81.1 ($127.3) million net of cash. Zenith provides technology for monitoring and analysis of down-hole data and related completion products for the artificial lift market.

France’s Fonds Stratégique d’Investissement and IFP Energies nouvelles have agreed to ‘support’ CGGVeritas’ long-term strategy. The units together own 10.7% of the capital and 14.2% of the voting rights.
Coil Tubing Technology has withdrawn from its proposed SEC listing, preferring to ‘focus its resources and capital on its operations and growth,’ and that the costs of preparing and filing SEC reports would ‘impede such focus.’
Insight Venture Partners is leading a $165 million equity investment in Drilling Info (DI). Proceeds will be used to expand DI’s data and analytics offerings and to repay early investors.
