Emerson has partnered with the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia on a $25 million technology and innovation centre in the Dhahran Techno Valley.

John Gass has been elected to the Board of the Southwestern Energy Company. He was previously with Chevron.

Former Juniper Networks and Microsoft executive Eddie Amos has joined Meridium as CTO.

Anne-Marie Ainsworth has been selected to succeed Carlin Conner as President and CEO of Oiltanking Partners. Carlin Conner is now MD of Oiltanking GmbH.

Argus Media has appointed chairman of Cella Energy and governor of the London School of Economics, Bryan Sanderson to its board as a non-executive director.

Carlos Esnard has joined Bureau Veritas as CFO for the North American unit. He hails from Ryder Systems.

Emma Pope has joined Hampson Russell’s Crawley office as a Sales and Training Coordinator.

Hydrocarb Energy has appointed Thomas Hoak as manager of geology and geophysics for its Namibian unit.

Bucharest-based Prospectiuni has appointed Andrew Clark to a newly created position of President. He was previously with Geokinetics.

Lloyd’s Register has appointed R. S. Sharma, former chairman and MD of India’s ONGC, as chairman of operations for South West Asia.

Stuart Brown has been appointed as General Manager, UK and Ireland for Emerson. He takes over from Paul Smith who has been named VP Middle East and Africa. Brown was with AMEC before joining Emerson in 1995.

Ulrich Turck is chairman of the Fieldbus Foundation’s EMEA Executive Advisory Council. He replaces Honeywell’s Jean-Marie Alliet.
