Johnson Controls’ Global WorkPlace solution for Shell

Facilities management deal covers 12,000 retail outlets around the world.

Royal Dutch Shell has awarded Johnson Controls’ Global WorkPlace Solutions unit a facilities management contract covering 12,000 Shell retail outlets in 27 countries. Shell’s gas stations are staffed by 150,000 people and serve approximately 2.8 million customers per day. The agreement builds on an existing five-year relationship between the two companies and is one of the largest single deals in the fuel retail sector.

Emma Fitzgerald, VP of Shell’s global retail network said, ‘The extension of this contract represents an important step in ensuring a joint outcome-based approach targeting significant and sustained improvements in health and safety, security and the environment (HSSE), operational excellence and innovation.’

Guy Holden, VP and general manager of Johnson Controls’ Global WorkPlace Solutions added, ‘The global portfolio approach to managing facilities and resources is a growing trend.
