Drilling regulators around the world have formed a working group to develop global offshore drilling standards. US offshore drilling supremo Michael Bromwich is leading the initiative.

The network common data form (netCDF) is now an official Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standard. netCDF was originally developed for the earth science community for the management of multidimensional array data.
