Autotronic first qualifier for EqHub exchange

Fire and security services provider puts certified documents on Norwegian supply chain exchange.

The Norwegian EqHub was announced last year (Oil ITJ May 2010) as a ShareCat-based exchange for suppliers to the Norwegian offshore market. EqHub has support from four Norwegian operators, several prime contractors and 20 or so suppliers. Epim, EqHub’s operator has just announced that Autronica Fire and Security is the first supplier company to qualify as an approved supplier in the hub and as such is a provider of pre-qualified, classified and quality assured information to the repository. Norwegian Autronica is a provider of fire detection and extinguishing systems.

Autronica’s Ole Bredal said, ‘The EqHub certificate of approval means that Autronica’s documents are on the hub and will help customers looking for accurate and timely product information. We seek to reduce the time traditionally spent sending standard documents and expect EqHub to be a cost effective solution here. Being first is always a challenge and we would thank representatives from ConocoPhillips and EqHub in this initiative.’

EqHub is based on the 15926-based POSCCaesar Association standard, and on input from DNV (quality assurance), Achilles (prequalification services) and ShareCat (technology). The EqHub is owned and operated by EPIM and funded from fees paid by Norwegian operators. Several other members of EqHub are in the pipeline of getting the approved EqHub supplier status. EqHub operator members are currently ConocoPhillips, Lundin, Total and BP and on the supplier side with EPC members ABB, BVS, Endress & Hauser and Wilhelmsen Callenberg.
