Saudi Aramco has awarded Foster Wheeler and partners Sofcon and SCEC K&A a five year contract relating to the company’s general engineering services plus (GES+) initiative. The deal covers engineering design and procurement services for oil and gas, refining, petrochemicals and infrastructure projects.

Aramco has awarded another GES+ contract to Wood Group unit Mustang Al-Hejailan Engineering.

Verizon Wireless is to provide Duke Energy with a telecommunications network connecting smart meters in its ‘Envision: Charlotte’, a public-private energy efficiency drive. Real time energy use data will stream over Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network to ‘large interactive lobby-level screens’ provided by Cisco.

Composite Software has teamed with IPL on the provision of data virtualization services in the US and Europe. The services include best practices developed for ‘a global top-five integrated energy company.’

Schlumberger has named INT a ‘preferred’ Ocean development partner. Third parties can contract with INT for the development of proprietary plug-ins, leveraging their own IP. Schlumberger has also licensed INT’s GeoToolkit.NET which will be integrated with Petrel 2011.

Knowledge Reservoir has teamed with market intelligence specialist Quest Offshore Resources to provide consulting services and integrated reservoir, production, facilities, and costing data solutions to the upstream. The deal teams KR’s reservoir knowledge base with Quest’s field development infrastructure data to provide detailed analysis of reservoir performance, field design, economics and asset modeling.

FMC Technologies has signed a five-year global frame agreement with BP to provide subsea production systems and life-of-field services for BP’s subsea developments.

Hess Corp. has joined the OFS Portal community. OFS Portal and its trading partners leverage the API PIDX electronic business standards to drive electronic business within the petroleum industry.

Contango has awarded Moblize a contract for real time data services on an exploration well in the Gulf of Mexico.

IPCOS has completed a six month audit of Dolphin Energy’s facilities in Qatar and the UAE. Dolphin’s automation systems were benchmarked against the ARC Advisory data base of oil gas and petrochemical plants worldwide.

Sercel has been awarded a contract by Compania Mexicana de Exploraciones S.A. de C.V. (Comesa) for the purchase of 10,000 digital sensor units. The company also reports the sale of a second Unite cable-free acquisition system to Mitcham Industries. The 3,000-channel order follows a previous purchase 7,500 channels last September.

Cameron Subsea Systems has signed a global agreement with BP for engineering, procurement, construction and operational support of subsea production systems.

KBR is to provide FEED services on KM LNG’s Kitimat, British Columbia liquid natural gas plant. KM LNG is a unit of Apache Corp. Kitimat is anticipated to be ‘a fully electric-driven’ plant.

GDF Suez has awarded Technip a € 45 million engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for its Norwegian North Sea Gjøa development.

Aker Solutions is one of two finalists in the competing on the Woodside-operated Browse LNG development.
