Petrosys comes into Paradigm’s Epos fold

Connector leverages OpenGeo dev kit to link Petrosys’ mapping tools with geoscience repository.

The plug-in/interoperability space is hotting up with the announcement of a ‘Petrosys Connector’ to Paradigm’s Epos data infrastructure. The new connector will allow Petrosys users to access data in Epos repositories. Paradigm senior VP technology Duane Dopkin described the move as driven by Petrosys’ customers adding that this reflected the growth of Epos as a ‘repository of choice’ for Paradigm’s customers, ‘Integration between Paradigm and Petrosys will add presentation quality mapping of Epos data and demonstrates our commitment to openness and cross-vendor connectivity.’

Petrosys is to develop and maintain the links, which will be built using the Paradigm’s Epos OpenGeo programming toolkit. Petrosys MD Volker Hirsinger added ‘The integration with Epos will provide our mutual clients with more ways of summarizing and mapping current project information.’ According to Paradigm, the OpenGeo programming toolkit makes it possible to extend workflows to include solutions from multiple vendors.
