The latest version of SAIC’s GeoRover geospatial data tracker, an ArcGIS plug-in, blends GPS data and field collected multi-media files in GPX format, automatically georeferencing this over maps and imagery. GeoRover now accepts data from ‘modern geotagging devices.’

P2 Energy Solutions has rolled out ‘P2 Analytics,’ extending its Excaliber suite with a business intelligence dashboard powered by Tibco Spotfire.

Emerson Smart Wireless has embedded Tyco’s TraceTek technology in its Rosemount 702 product line, proving hydrocarbon leak detection and monitoring of tank farms, and pipelines.

The 6.7 release of Geolog, Paradigm’s log and well data management solution introduces model-based petrophysical uncertainty to ‘accurately and scientifically quantify uncertainty in a hydrocarbon column,’ particularly during geosteering operations.

Petris Technology’s ZEH Plot Express now supports the new high speed iTerra TL1290 multi-width log printer from iSys.

Release 15.0 of PTC’s Mathcad includes design of experiment functions, expanded reference libraries and integration with third-party tools including True Engineering’s ‘Truenumbers.’ True’s technology is designed to ‘communicate values across applications and the organization without loss of quantity or unit integrity. Results and values can be moved outside of Mathcad onto different document types—enabling easy sharing of the data.’

A new partnership between Statoil, Nacre and Norway’s Sintef R&D organization is to develop ‘next generation’ hearing protection and communication technology for the offshore energy industry. According to the release, workers on offshore oil platforms face the risk of not only permanent hearing loss from exposure to high levels of hazardous noise over extended periods of time, but also challenges in maintaining adequate levels of speech communication and situational awareness, which are essential to maintaining safety.’ Nacre’s Quietpro system is already in use with US, NATO and Scandinavian armed forces.
