Caesar Systems has announced the 2010 release of PetroVR with enhancements to reservoir functions, and enhanced validation tracking and resolution.

The 6.5.1 release of Coreworx’ capital project management toolset introduces cost mitigation control and schedule risk management, laying the groundwork for a new ‘interface management solution.’

Emerson has rolled out the Roxar Sensor Retrieval System for remote subsea production systems’ sensor replacement. The company is to donate the interface to the industry to ‘protect customers from proprietary systems.’ The remote operating vehicle (ROV) retrieval system can replace a sensor at ‘a fraction of the cost of traditional methods.’

Fugro-Rovtech has taken delivery of the first ‘DeepTouch’ ROV pilot training simulator from sister company Fugro General Robotics. The system will be used to evaluate subsea intervention engineering designs and train pilots. The system offers full force-modeled physics simulation for realistic ‘touch and feel’ interactivity.

Barco has teamed with Microsoft on an new ‘Envisioning Center’ demonstrator located at Microsoft’s Technology Center, Paris. The facility, which offers a media experience designed to ‘overwhelm’ customers, includes a a Galaxy NW-12, a three-chip DLP WUXGA 3D stereo projector and XDS Control Center software.

Merrick Systems has teamed with Cognex to incorporate the Cognex DataMan ID into its own RFID-based solutions for oil and gas asset tracking. Cognex’ solution adds Data Matrix 2D barcodes to Merrick’s ‘DynaCap’ life cycle traceability software and ATEX certified Diamond RFID Tags, including new HPHT tags unveiled at the Offshore Technology Conference this month.
