Startup offers hosted fault risk analysis

FaultSeal’s FaultRisk software as a service offering analyzes seal, produces ‘Allan maps.’

Sydney, Australia-based FaultSeal has announced ‘FaultRisk,’ a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for evaluating seal quality. FaultRisk 1.0 calculates the risk of lateral seal for fault bound prospects and defines the distributions of fluid contacts in un-drilled fault blocks and compartments. FaultSeal’s consultants have been using the tool in-house for the past year. Users can test drive FaultRisk by logging onto faultseal.com and creating an account, and ‘downloading the software’ (oops, thought this was SaaS?).

Registered users can also access FaultSeal’s online knowledge base and can simulate faults using an online ‘Allan map’ server. An online tutorial is available using data from Norway’s StatoilHydro-operated Gullfaks field. More from www.faultseal.com.
