Weatherford teams with Oilennium on risk management training

Drilling contractor and e-learning provider team on online safety management system.

Weatherford International has announced the global deployment of a multilingual risk management training program developed for its Drilling Hazard Mitigation (DHM) unit by UK-based Oilennium. Weatherford DHM global QHSE manager Adrian Houlbrook said, ‘Oilennium’s online Learning Management System (LMS) provides significant benefits in terms of efficient delivery and cost reduction—eliminating the need for classroom presentations. LMS also lets supervisory staff monitor employee progress. Oilennium managed to provide us with this valuable resource for a modest investment—a critical consideration in the current economic environment.’

Oilennium MD Kevin Keable added, ‘The Risk Management program was a massive undertaking involving an important and complex subject. Our partnership with Weatherford has produced a benchmark training standard for the industry.’

Oilennium notes that although offshore work is hazardous, when compared with other industries it is actually the safest, thanks to the health and safety standards that have been developed and implemented. Safety management systems build atop the HSE standard set to maintain and monitor a safe work environment. The six module system is available in English and Spanish.
