CSC for BHP Billiton

Computer Sciences Corp. has signed a $53 million IT services contract with BHP Billiton covering worldwide infrastructure, desktop, HPC and telecoms.

BHP Billiton Petroleum has awarded Computer Sciences Corp. a five-year, $53 million information technology services contract for the management of BHPB’s global IT operations. The enterprise-wide infrastructure includes help desk, desktop, midrange, network, high-performance computing and telecommunications services along with applications management. CSC CEO Mike Laphen said, ‘We have supported BHPB for several years and are now adjusting our solution and engagement model to address the company’s new decentralized approach to IT.’

BHPB CIO Zhanna Golodryga added, ‘This agreement extends our previous relationship with CSC to provide scalable services and an enhanced IT experience for our users.’ CSC has provided IT support services to various organizations within BHPB for the past eight years. Last month (OITJ February 2009) CSC announced a petroleum enterprise business intelligence solution with Oracle Corp. Other CSC clients include BP, Conoco, Chevron and ExxonMobil.
