Quorum Business Solutions has hired Rich Schaeffer and Andy Fitz as directors of its new SAP Production Revenue Accounting Practice.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has issued a request for information on the modernization of oil and gas reporting requirements (oilit.com/links/0807_8). The paper includes a discussion on the admissibility of computer methods in reserves estimates.

Michael Baker Corp. has appointed Michael White as CFO of its energy segment. White hails from Gexa Energy.

Darko Tufekcic has joined Geotrace as geoscience advisor to Eastern European clients. Tufekcic was previously with Western Geco.

Interactive Exploration Solutions has appointed Hector Sepulveda as VP business development.

Avrami Grader is now chief scientist with rock physics specialist Ingrain.

Kalido has appointed Mary Wells as VP marketing. Wells was previously with BEA systems.

Rosa Polanco-Ferrer has joined Midland Valley as structural geologists and Alison

Martin as technical author.

Gary Morris has been named CFO of Paradigm. He was previously with Halliburton.

Invensys Process Systems, ENPPI and GASCO are to set up an industrial automation engineering centre of excellence in Cairo.

Mikko Jaaskelainen is now CTO of SensorTran. Jaaskelainen was previously with Shell. The company has also named John Rothermel (previously with Quantapoint) as EVP sales and marketing.

A study by the Boston Consulting Group has established that carbon capture and storage (CCS) is a feasible way of mitigating global warming. CCS could ‘reduce one-third’ of global emissions of carbon dioxide from stationary sources.

Spectraseis has appointed Ian Vann and Bjarte Fageras to its board. Vann was previously with BP. Fageras is chairman of Octio Geophysical.

William Winans has joined Swagelok as director, eBusiness and knowledge management.

Brokerage house Weeden & Co. has hired oilfield service sector specialist Geoff Kieburtz to its team of analysts.

WellPoint Systems has appointed Mickey Abougoush, Ben Mayberry and Don Wilson to its board. Abougoush is president of Teknica Overseas, Mayberry is CEO of Winston Sage Partners and Wilson senior VP of Stantec.
