Aveva executive VP Derek Middlemas has been appointed to the FIATECH board of directors.

Adrian Burrows and Stuart Harker have joined UK-based Circle Oil. Both were previously with PGS.

Mohamed Saad Yahia heads up a new ‘Industrial Automation Engineering Centre of Excellence’ in Egypt, a joint venture between Invensys, ENPPI and GASCO.

Steve Cooper has joined the PPDM Association as chief communications officer. Cooper was previously CTO with IHS Energy.

Users of the UK’s DEAL data website will now have to pay a registration fee to download data, £250 for a single user and £2,500 for a corporation.

The UK’s ‘Capturing the Energy’ historical archive is now live on www.capturing-the-energy.org.uk. The archive currently covers the recently decommissioned Frigg gas field.

Nabil Habayeb, President and CEO of GE, Middle East and Africa opened a new dedicated calibration, repair and training service centre in Abu Dhabi this month at the CERT Technology Park. The center will be managed by CEO Bob Richards.

Honeywell’s UOP unit has opened a natural gas processing design center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Amos Nur has left Stanford University to join Houston-based reservoir-rock analysis firm Ingrain.

IES is to establish a network of Petroleum Systems Centers (PSC) with Kristijan Kornpihl heading-up the Houston PSC, Harald Karg in Mexico and Oliver Swientek in Germany.

Maggie Montaigne has joined OFS Portal’s board of managers. Montaigne is Halliburton’s ExxonMobil account VP.

Jon Erik Reinhardsen is now president and CEO of PGS replacing succeeding Svein Rennemo.

Jorge Machnizh is Paradigm’s president and COO succeeding John Gibson who retains the CEO role.

Woodside has joined dGB ‘s Seismic Stratigraphic Interpretation Consortium.
