The European Petroleum Survey Group has released Version 6.9 of its geodetic parameter dataset which is available for downloaded from www.epsg.org. The new release includes transforms, datums and coordinate reference systems from the US National Geospatial Intelligence Agency for some oceanic islands not previously available. Records for maritime countries based on ISO 3166 have been clarified.
Microsoft Access
The new release is available as both a Microsoft Access database, with some data reporting capabilities and as a series of SQL scripts for populating other relational databases. It is our understanding that the EPSG geodetics database will also be available as a web service at a future date.
OGP
The EPSG has been reformed as the Surveying and Positioning Committee of the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (OGP). The former Geodesy Working Group is now the Geodesy Subcommittee of the OGP Surveying and Positioning Committee. The Geodesy Subcommittee will continue to maintain the EPSG dataset.
