Correction

Martin Gainville of the French Petroleum Institute (IFP) has corrected our account of his presentation at last month’s SPE ATCE. Gainville explains ‘We have not yet incorporated the third party software packages (Eclipse, PumaFlow, Reveal, etc.) that your report implied. These were mentioned as representative of typical workflows and to illustrate the need for standards to ensure numerical and data consistency.’

New paper

Gainville has also kindly provided a short paper that better explains the scope of the CAPE-OPEN standard. This is available on www.oilit.com/papers/capeopen.pdf.
