Energy Solutions acquires CriticalControl’s PipeWorks division

Software house acquires hydraulic modeling package and expertise. Transporter deployed by Wolverine.

Houston-based pipeline software specialists Energy Solutions International (ESI) has acquired the PipeWorks division of CriticalControl Solutions Corp. of Calgary. PipeWorks is an integrated suite of software products supported by a team of experienced pipeline hydraulics specialists. PipeWorks targets pipeline batch scheduling and leak detection. Details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Wolverine

In a separate announcement, ESI reports deployment of its PipelineTransporter liquids scheduling application at Wolverine Pipe Line Company of Michigan. Wolverine’s pipeline system consists of more than 1,000 miles of various-sized pipe and pumping stations. PipelineTransporter addresses the challenges of moving large volumes of crude oil and refined products through the world’s pipelines, providing schedulers with tools and information for planning and timely delivery of products, including batched pipelines. ESI serves more than 500 clients in over 70 countries.
