Marathon’s IT for SAIC

SAIC has won a seven year, multimillion dollar contract from Marathon Oil for the outsourcing of its IT, upstream applications and maintenance.

Marathon has awarded SAIC an outsourcing contract to provide IT infrastructure services, upstream applications development and maintenance. In a seven year, ‘multimillion dollar’ agreement, SAIC assumes responsibility for service desk and client-side support for 12,000 users and 10,000 desktops. Global network, security and infrastructure support are also in the deal.

Marathon CIO Tom Sneed said, ‘SAIC offers the expertise and a broad knowledge base that will let us focus on our core businesses.’ SAIC’s Randy Walker added, ‘We look forward to applying SAIC’s oil industry experience, as well as our delivery expertise and methodologies to help Marathon achieve its business objectives.’

EDS

Last year, Marathon awarded EDS an eight-year, $63 million outsourcing services agreement to improve its computing capabilities and consolidate its server environment.
