Landmark and IBM ASP Grid processing

Landmark and IBM are to offer ‘on-demand’ computing for seismic processors.

Landmark Graphics Corp. and IBM are to sell ‘on demand’ access to computing technology for seismic processing services. Landmark’s seismic processing customers can now access IBM’s network of ‘on demand computing’ centers offering scalable access to information storage and computing resources.

Landmark president Peter Bernard said, ‘This offering satisfies customers’ needs by supplying technology as required, without large, up front capital investments. Customers already benefit from our managed services of data and application software hosting. With IBM ‘On Demand’ technology, seismic processing customers will now be able to access and pay for computing power as needed.’

Subscription model

A subscription model caters for satisfying ‘overflow’ demand during peak processing workloads.
