Unocal has signed with Oilfield Service (OFS) Portal for the exchange of digital content governing many key aspects of e-commerce between the two parties. OFS Portal is the e-business front-end to a group of upstream oil and gas suppliers and service organizations. OFS Portal’s members include ABB, Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Kvaerner, Schlumberger.

Unocal e-Solutions Manager Mark Bruno said, “We now have a single source for digital content from OFS Portal members. We can now electronically purchase products and services ranging from drilling equipment to completion. This streamlined process enables us to quickly engage OFS Portal members in our eProcurement initiatives.”
Le Sage
Bill Le Sage, CEO of OFS Portal added, “This agreement provides an avenue for improved productivity and further cost savings in the sourcing, ordering and fulfillment of products and services between Unocal and our members. Bringing together key buyer and supplier organizations in the upstream oil and gas sector is an important step in advancing global e-procurement initiatives.”
EnergyOpps
Unocal has been in the forefront of online business particularly through its EnergyOpps acquisition and divestment portal and its use of e-business technology from DigitalOilfield. Unocal is also a member of the buy-side grouping Trade Ranger and has contributed to the API PIDX/ComProServ standards for upstream e-commerce.
