Pipeline and utility companies use UTSI International Corp.’s UTSeyes software to provide remote users with web-based access to data in the corporate database. Staff and customers can interactively request data from corporate database servers over the web. The product comprises a server on the corporate host, and a self-downloading Active-X browser plug-in. Permissions can be issued to individuals or groups to control data access. Data is streamed to users for local processing and display. Users can configure data points and time periods as desired - removing the need for periodic reports. Data is constantly available on-demand.
