Robertson pulls plug on EIS

Mergers and acquisitions are proving hard on subscription-based information resources. Robertson has been forced into closing the EIS Energy publications and ‘relocating’ them in cyberspace.

Robertson Research has stopped publication of the EIS Energy Information Service publications Drilling Weekly, Onshore Weekly, Production Drilling Monthly, International Explorer and N W Europe Activity Maps. The EIS Redhill office has been closed and the data and databases relocated to Robertson’s offices in North Wales, where they will be integrated with other Robertson products and services to add value to them, and to form the basis for new offerings, the details of which will be announced in the coming months.

Consolidation

Roberstons cites declining circulation following consolidation amongst oil and service companies as the prime reason behind what it describes as a ‘difficult decision’. Additionally, the market for information services has become increasingly competitive, making the publications no longer commercially viable.
