La dolce vita is to continue for two more years for Guardian Data’s Milan unit. Guardian has been transcribing Agip’s seismic data since 1997, operating jointly with Geoquest. The latest tranche of the transcription contract has been renewed after a complete re-tendering process was initiated.

Dingo

The new contract is for a further two years with a possible one year extension. The center uses Guardian’s propriety "Dingo" transcription system with output to 3590 high density tape. A metadata listing of Guardians "Seistore" database is also supplied. During the first two and a half years of the project, over 125,000 tapes and cartridges were processed. A similar volume of activity is forecast for the next phase.
