First proposed in 1990 the LAS standard has been a popular means of exchanging digital well log data. With the widespread use of complex logging techniques, notably devices recording array - type data, many users have proposed bespoke developments to accommodate these. The new Version 3.0 of the LAS standard intends to federate these efforts and adds mud logging and other non-wireline information to the standard. More from
