ESRI announces ArcExplorer Version 1.0 and new magazine (October 1997)

ESRI has just announce the final release of ArcExplorer Version 1.0, an ‘easy-to-use’, free GIS data browser that supports Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0.

ArcExplorer is designed to "dramatically" change the way that geographic data can be viewed and shared throughout organizations and the world. Simultaneously, ESRI is launching a new quarterly magazine, ArcUser, in response to growing interest from the ESRI user community for more technical information. ArcUser will be available in the first quarter of 1998 and will be mailed automatically to all registered users of ESRI software. It is free to all registered users. Outside of the United States, ArcUser will be distributed through ESRI's network of worldwide distributors. More on http://www.esri.com.
