IP.com adds OnePetro to InnovationQ platform. SPE contracts i2k Connect for AI-based search.

Oil and gas content auments IP.com’s 100 million patent database. i2K Connect’s adds AI-based search to OnePetro.

IP.com has added the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ OnePetro library of scientific papers to its ‘InovationQ’ discovery platform. OnePetro is an online library of technical literature for usptream oil and gas exploration holding some 200,000 papers from 20 publishing partners. IP.com enables full-text indexing and search across OnePetro and other content, notably from the the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). IP.com claims a database of over 100 million patent and related documents. Its InnovationQ tools are said to be offer ‘robust’ prior art search of global patent authorities and IBM’s technical disclosure bulletin. IP.com uses patented neural network machine learning technology in its ‘semantic search’ platform. The system now includes corporate tree data from S&P Global Market.

The SPE is also working with i2k Connect to deliver ‘a new experience’ for finding and analyzing information on SPE.org, PetroWiki, and OnePetro. New AI-based technology ‘combines machine learning with subject matter expert knowledge to automatically tag documents with accurate and consistent metadata’.
