Geospace also won a US$18.1 million order from Dawson Geophysical for 9,000 stations of its three-channel GSX wireless recording system.

Honeywell has been selected by Preem AB to modernize the Preemraf Lysekil refinery in southern Sweden with Honeywell’s enhanced high performance process manager industrial process controllers.

Chinese IT solutions provider Huawei supplied a remote control and communications systems for the Sino-Kazakh natural gas project, operated by Asia Gas Pipeline. Huawei also deployed the ‘world’s first’ offshore oilfield LTE network (a.k.a. ‘4G’), for Norway’s Tampnet. Another ‘world’s first’ is the onshore oilfield LTE network in Xinjiang, China.

IBM has sent a corporate service corps on a pro bono mission in Angola, advising on how to better train small and medium sized businesses to tailor their services for the oil and gas sector.

Ramboll has standardized on Intergraph SmartMarine Enterprise for all of its onshore and offshore oil and gas projects. The standardization entails integration of several Intergraph tools, including Intergraph Smart 3D, SmartPlant Reference Data, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant Electrical.

RSI has signed an alliance with Share Oil & Services consulting group of Mexico, to provide geoscience consulting services.

Shell is using SAS Predictive Asset Maintenance software on its Perdido spar platform to extend equipment lifespan and run times.

Maersk Oil UK has joined Maersk Oil Qatar and Maersk Olie og Gas in using Serafim Future as a reserves management and production forecasting system.

Technip has been awarded a substantial (€100 to €250 million) contract by LLOG Exploration Offshore for the development of the Delta House field in the Mississippi Canyon area. Technip also won an ‘important’ contract from Qatar Petroleum for an offshore project.

Wood Group and Siemens have formed a joint venture comprising the Maintenance and Power Solutions businesses of Wood Group GTS, and Siemens’ TurboCare business unit.
