Active Navigation rolls-out oil and gas SharePoint platform

New unstructured data cleansing offering leverages experience with BP for operations and risk mitigation.

Active Navigation (AN) has just rolled out a suite of Microsoft SharePoint-based solutions targeting oil and gas operations, compliance, collaboration and risk mitigation. AN trawls unstructured data sources in the organization, identifying high value content in information silos. Cleansed and correctly tagged documents have proved critical during mergers and asset acquisition where business-critical content must be identified and quickly ingested. Clean data means that good intelligence can be derived from ‘mountains’ of legacy content and new information sources to spot trends, perform analysis, and drive sound business decisions.

Another AN service is personal identifiable information (PII) remediation. PII is information that can be used to identify or contact an individual potentially exposing them or the organization to threats. Flagship oil and gas client is BP, whose Olivier Legendre addressed the Active Navigation User Focus Group last year with a talk on how BP has combined different Active Navigation analyses to compile custom reports that ‘drive user buy-in for cleansing projects.’ More from www.activenav.com.
