Calgary-based CMG generated $11.5 million from reservoir modeling software for fiscal 2004, up 22% on the year.

Geoscience Australia and CSIRO are demonstrating real-time access to ‘pre-competitive’ geoscience data in the Solid Earth and Environment Grid (SEE Grid) project, ‘next generation’ internet-based technology for geoscience and spatial data interoperability.

Hakima Ben Meradi is to head-up Earth Resource Management Services (ERM.S) new Stavanger offices.

Jerry Dees has been named director to Geotrace’s board. Dees was previously with Vastar Resources.

Robert ‘Bo’ Ewald has been named CEO of Linux Networx. Ewald was previously with Cray Research and served on the US Presidential Information Technology Advisory Committee.

OFS Portal has appointed Alvaro Escorcia (Halliburton), Paul Krueger (Vetco Intl.) and Steve Sidney (Baker Hughes) to its board.

The Petroleum Research Center of the Libyan National Oil Corp. is to deploy Scandpower Petroleum Technology’s Olga 2000 simulator to boost its R&D and technical services capability.

A new release of Geosoft’s Oasis Montaj offers enhanced 3D visualization, 3D voxel model building, Kriging and GoCad support.

Wood Mackenzie is to receive a cash injection from EU buyout specialists Candover. The funds will be used to finance WoodMac’s growth through ‘organic investment and strategic add-on acquisitions.’
