<link>http://www.oilit.com/2journal/2article/0502_3.htm</link>

<title>WITSML User Group Meeting</title>
<link>http://www.oilit.com/2journal/2article/0502_5.htm</link>
<description>The Wellsite Information Transfer Standard Modeling Language (WITSML) has undeniable momentum. About 50 attended the public meeting in Paris late last year. WITSMLs is a firewall-friendly data transfer mechanism between rig, onshore operations center and office. With endorsements from ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco, Statoil and BP, WITSML is a modern IT solution, with a growing complement of tools available for developers. Vendors are releasing WITSML-based solutions, but their openness and interoperability are somewhat colored by commercial considerations. </description>
